2016 Westward HO travel blog

We arrived in Sallisaw Oklahoma at the Koa around 4 pm which was a very good drive down I-49 to I-40 and west. The weather here is just wonderful, 65 degrees and the sun is shining on clear skies. We will spend one night here and head for the Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas area tomorrow.

Sallisaw is basically a small community of 8650 people that depend on lumber, oil and natural gas as the industry. During World War II there was a POW camp here. In Oklahoma there are 70 casinos and the Indians own all of them.
