Royal Botantical Gardens 200th Year

1816-2016 created in flowers

Located next to the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Botanical Gardens is our favorite location in Sydney and we enjoyed walking through it for several hours on the play day in Sydney. We had 8 hours to play while we waited for our flight to Christchurch so we took the light rail from the airport to the Circular Quay area near the harbor. We stored our luggage at the hotel and had a great day walking all over downtown Sydney. The pictures show the upcoming celebration of the 200th anniversary of the gardens and, as appropriate, the numbers are created with locate flowers and plants and grasses! The gardens are such a gift to the people of Australia and are free of charge and beautifully maintained. There is a large paved path that skirts the harbor so you have views of the beautiful Sydney harbor AND the gorgeous Botanical Gardens all on the same walk. Lovely benches are located throughout and we lucked out in a overcast and light breeze day so the walking weather was perfect

18,500 steps for the day. We had a great time and it was good to walk after that long flight yesterday.
