2015 New York Trip travel blog

I asked for a favor from Elden and Cherie that would they be willing to get started one hour earlier so that I could be sure that I arrived home before the nearby school let out because I didn't want to have to worry about running over some kid as I backed the motorhome into the parking space next to our house. They willingly agreed and we wee on the road by 0715. We stopped at the Bakersfield Flying J where Elden took on twenty gallons of very expensive diesel fuel at $2.759 per gallon. Elden's motorhome's fuel tank is much smaller than mine so I did not need to add any fuel in Bakersfield.

Traffic was light as we headed for I5 and it was light on I5 as well. We arrived in Livermore around 1145 and we said our "Goodbyes" on the radio because I turned off on Vasco Road to refuel at the Valaro Station that is selling diesel for $2.459 per gallon.

We arrived in San Ramon around 1245 and we had the motorhome in it's parking space by 1330 and I didn’t have to dodge any children or cause a traffic jam while I backed the motorhome into it's parking space.

To sum up our trip we drove 10057.7 miles, it took us 217 hours and 11 minutes of driving time, at an average speed of 46.3 miles per hour, using 1,354.4 gallons of diesel fuel, for an average of 7.4 miles per gallon.

That is all for this trip.
