Rough Night

The girls

Next Boat

The tranquility of early morning at sea aboard ship before all the guest have awakened from the night of partying. I was able to get to deck 11 with the scooter, deck 12 is the jogging track, which I will not be jogging this morning. As I sit at the fantail gazing out to sea, the stars are out and lights on the horizon of other ships plying the seas to a port of call to unload their cargo. Such a peaceful time of day.

Passing the crew members as they do their morning duties wishing you a good morning, probably the only English some may know, as they ready the ship for a day of fun at sea. Some crew members do speak English very well, as I met Hector from Honduras who was taking a break. We converse about the parts of America he has been, such as Chicago in February. He is not a cold weather person so that was not enjoyable for him.

Today will be the leisure day for all of us. Everyone will lay around the pool and take in the sun. It is difficult to get a lounge because everyone is aboard, but lots of activities going on. Tammy had a good time at the pool, she was there longer than the rest of our family, and she was happy when she returned to the room. This has been a great cruise for us but the drawback is the food. The food is just about what you would get at Denny’s. Most of the time it is cold and needs to be sent back. I remember the cruise we took on the Disney line several years ago that the food was the highlight of the cruise. Also you could get food 24 hours a day, not here. The quality of the food has a lot to be desired. Everything else was great, our cabin steward was saying that at one time he had 10 cabins to care for, now he has 25 to care for. The cruise line is cutting staff even though the ships are still filling up. Our ship had 2,000 people and it only holds 2,050 guests. We will never do Carnival again. Even with that it was a cruise we will not ever forget having our children with us.
