Beaver Run RV Park

Did not get a very early start today because we were not sure how far this leg of the journey will be. Started out around 9 am heading south again. We could not ask for better weather, last night it was in the 60’s which made for good sleeping. As we got on the interstate it was decided it was time for our Walmart stop. We did stop in Cleveland Tennessee at the Super Walmart to get some stuff, you know how that goes. Candy has decided she want to be in Florida early so that will be 2 days of long driving. It is good Chip is with us so he can drive part of the way. We will be stopping in Metter Georgia tonight for an overnight stop and then onto Port Canaveral on Thursday. The worse part was driving thru Atlanta Georgia at 4:00 pm. I normally drive straight thru downtown but what I was seeing on the north side of Atlanta, traffic was bumper to bumper and stopped. I thought it would be the same on the south side of Atlanta so we took the I-285 by-pass, that was as bad for stop and go traffic.

This was a long day, 550 miles and we arrive at the Beaver Run RV Park in Metter GA. At 8:00 pm, in the dark. Thank goodness the lady in the office got on her golf cart and led us to our site. I already had the spot when I called but don’t know if I could have found it in the dark. Tomorrow we will drive to Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral for the end of this leg of the trip.
