Jolly Green Giant in Blue Earth, MN

Made it to Wisconsin

Leon Valley Campground in Leon, WI

We got started about 9:00am and got on the road to make it to Leon, WI. It was a good day with clear skies and a tailwind. We had stopped at a rest area and talked to an attendant that told us about a 56 foot tall Jolly Green Giant just down the road. We decided we had to see it. There was a DQ beside it so we got lunch and sat under the Green Giant and had a burger and fried cheese curds. For the non-northerners, cheese curds are small bite size pieces that are also called squeaky cheese due to when you bite them they squeak on your teeth. After lunch we got back on the road and crossed over the southern portion of Minnesota. The whole way it was fairly flat and if you like corn fields, soy bean fields and wind turbines? Then it is the place for you. The only trees are around the houses. The fields go as far as the eye can see. We finally crossed over into Wisconsin. After we did the scenery started to change. It started looking like East Texas except with an occasional corn field. We got to Leon Valley Campground around 6:30pm and got checked in. We didn't have any internet so I didn't have a chance to do the blog.

Tomorrow we only had a little over 100 miles to go. It should be an easy day to get to our destination that we will be at for a week until we go and pick up Karen. Then we will journey southward and explore on our way back to Texas. "Catch You Down The Road"
