Sunday August 2
We were up and out by mid-morning to visit Heather's Aunt Mavis.
Heather's cousin Karen and her Aunt Mavis were home when we arrived, and her cousin Jeremy and his girlfriend Ann arrived shortly afterwards with the dog, Leroy (still going at 13 years old). Her cousin Sandra arrived a short time later. We had a cup of coffee, tarts brought in by Jeremy and a glass or two of Proseco (Heather only; Gary was driving) around 11:30 a.m. We had a fun morning and caught up on news. Mavis has their house up for sale, but they do not know firm plans as to where they will move to next.
After a few hours of visiting, we drove toward Chester for the afternoon, stopping first at the Nag's Head near Rossett for our Sunday lunch. Once in Chester, we parked in the shopping centre and enjoyed a walk around the old town for a few hours in some very nice weather.
Later, we heard that Cilla Black had died at her home in Spain. We had planned a day in Liverpool tomorrow so it will be interesting to see what, if anything, is visible in the city as a memorial.
Back at the hotel, we stayed in for another early evening and just nibbled some snacks that that we had.
