|Ray and Carol needed to take their motorhome over to Camping World because that miss he had in the engine came back on the drive from Laughlin to Vegas. They must get this fixed before their trip to Idaho. They had an appointment at 8:00 AM, they got disconnected and drove over to Camping World and dropped the motorhome off. They left it to go get a new spare tire for their jeep which had went bad on the way to Laughlin. After returning to Camping World, they were informed that the mechanic didn’t come in so the motorhome couldn’t be checked today. They were told to come back on Friday and they will be first in line, if the mechanic comes in. Candy and I drove over to another campground that is not as pricey as Oasis RV Park where we are. It appears to be a good park so we will move on Saturday to the Las Vegas RV Park on the east side of Las Vegas. Not many campgrounds have openings since this is NASCAR weekend, the Kobalt 400 will be ran here on Sunday. We thought about going but with an expected 100,000 people this would not work for me. After checking out the campground we had to stop at Wal-Mart for some shopping, can’t pass a Wal-Mart. Our next stop was the Carroll Shelby complex, which he is a famous performance cars builder, he is most know for the Shelby Mustangs he used to build thru the 60’s and 70’s. He was quite a sports race car driver in SCCA racing series. The building was a gift shop, museum and the shop where they still are building cars to order and reconditioning cars from years past. Candy was looking to purchase us a new tow vehicle but felt it may too low to the ground for me to get in so she passed up on the purchase. The museum has several of the cars that Shelby had built over the years, also you could look thru the windows at the shop area where there was work being done on several new cars being built and cars being reconditioned.
Returned to motorhome, Ray and Carol had returned from Camping World. We took the afternoon off and just lounged around. We did decide to drive back to the strip to see the Bellagio Fountains and heard that at 6:00 PM all the NASCAR haulers would parade down the Las Vegas Strip. The Bellagio Fountains performance happens every half hour and dance to music, it is quite a sight to see. We were on the street so we waited around for the NASCAR hauler parade. That was quite a sight with 50 haulers traveling down the strip with air horns blowing, the haulers shining from the lights of the strip, glad we waited.
Candy and Carol took the elevator up the Eiffel Tower to view the city from above, Ray and I went to find food. We stopped at a restaurant inside the Paris Casino with a French flare, since it is Paris. The only question I have, why am I in a French restaurant and all the people are speaking Spanish? Candy and Carol returned from the Eiffel Tower trip and joined us for a bite of food. I really enjoyed the time
