The McKee's Great Adventure travel blog

We drove from Ajo to Organ Pipe National Monument. Easy drive. We got a nice spot at the campground in the park. Very nice big spots. No hook ups, but they have a dump station and water. Gens can only be ran from 8-10 am and 4-6 pm, so it was tricky keeping the batteries up on the Moho. Verizon and AT&T worked ok enough to call peeps and do a little internet stuff. Dish worked good. The nights were about 55 degrees, so we did not need to run our heater until gen time. Day time temps were about 75-78 degrees, very nice. We drove the scenic drives on both the west and east side of the park. The West side had been closed for about 12 years and recently opened back up September of 2014. On the west side, you will be right next to the border. Lukeville is about 7 miles away with gas, small store and restaurant. Also border crossing into Mexico at Lukeville. Lots of beautiful organ pipe cacti and saguaro cacti.
