Rex Allen aka The Last of the Silver Screen Cowboys

KoKo buried in front of statue of Rex

The speed limit from Fort Stockton to El Paso is 80 mph. Before reaching El Paso I crossed into Mountain Time Zone. Between gaining an hour and flying down the road I was able to go all the way to Willcox, Arizona making tomorrow an easy 3 hour drive to storage. I have lined up a driver and am looking forward to making tomorrow's entry from the coach.

I arrived in Willcox at 3 - that gave me plenty of time to visit the Rex Allen Museum. Rex was born in Willcox and went on to become the last of the Silver Screen Cowboys. He made records from 1946-1976 the most famous being Streets of Laredo which sold 3 million copies. He made 19 movies with his horse KoKo and from 1955-1985 he voiced hundreds of commercials and narrated more than 100 nature films for Walt Disney.

Two doors down is the Friends of Marty Robbins Museum - a private collection of Marty Robbins music and memorabilia. A wine tasting store is in between. How 2014 is that!

Made great time today and even had time to explore a little - a good day on the road.
