Had a little sleep in, did some washing and then set off on the Mt Mackenzie drive. Just followed the visitor's information sheet on the 38km drive, some sealed roads and some dirt.very pretty countryside. Took a picnic morning tea, and spent some time at the lookout on top of Mt Mackenzie. Met a couple from Greenbank who are down this way looking for a property so they can escape the big smoke.
Called back into town to check out a top for Don and ended up in the "famous" Federation Pie shop. Bought two pies and came back to van for lunch. When we walked around town yesterday, it was practically deserted, but a lot more around today which was good to see. All the eating places were busy, but talking to retailers, they are doing it tough.
Another quiet afternoon reading our books. Have a nice couple next to us from Dapto. Spent a couple of hours with them this afternoon, very easy to talk to. They head off tomorrow.
They visited the Rail Museum as well today and recommend we have a look there.
The caravan park is very nice and well kept. Seems to be the only one in town that is recommended at present.
Other travellers recommended it to Mick & Marie when they were travelling in Queensland.
