It's our 4th day at Kinka Beach just 5 klms out of Yeppoon. It would be nice to say the weather has been great but it hasn't been so far. The winds have been strong and we had a heavy shower of rain night before last.
We have walked on the beach most days but it has been blustery and damn cold. Today we changed our routine and drove to Rockhampton where we explored Kershaw Gardens and it was a pleasure not being buffeted by strong cold breezes. We are going to cap the day off by going out to dinner at a Japanese in the Mercure Capricorn Resort which used to be the Iwasaki Capricorn Resort. We stayed at Iwasaki abut 30 years ago on one of Fraser Island trips and are hoping to bring back some fond memories tonight over what we hope will be a lovely dinner.
We have been keen to get out fishing but the wind and tides have been against us so we are hoping for better luck at Cardwell and then again at the Daintree.
While we haven't been fishing we have certainly been enjoying the local fresh seafood from the fish markets.
Friday morning we leave here and head to Mackay for 3 days.
