2014 Eagle trip travel blog

We stayed in the campground yesterday and got ourselves established. We are on an end site so we have lots of room. One of the seasonal campers has a pet goat.

Today we drove south to Manitowoc to see the Maritime museum - a good one. The entry fee included a tour of the submarine Cobia that was built in 1943 and saw duty in the Pacific theatre. Subs were built in Manitowoc during the war, this one was built in CT but is similar to the ones built in Wisconsin and has been well restored.

We first went to the ferry dock to check it out and see how to get there from the highway. We did see the Badger in the harbor and some of the passengers lined up to drive on. Afterward as we were at the museum we saw it steam out on it's route across Lake Michigan.

We did see a little of Two Rivers, there is an old fishing village to tour, but it was closing. We did also see where the nuclear power plant is on the coast. It was a clear day and very comfortable, very scenic but much more population than in Kewaunee.
