Wednesday, June 25. Official opening day of Country Fest with gates remaining open 24-hours a day, beginning at 6 pm tonight. Also first small local groups begins tonight at 8 pm. The WIFI around the stage area is supposed to be available tonight too. We met another group of new neighbors from Iowa, Lynn & David and Andrea. Drove to the Yellowstone Cheese Store in Cadott which makes their cheese onsite and sampled many of the cheeses, buying 4-5 small portions because did not have room in camper refrigerator to store for bringing home. Yellowstone had an ice cream counter too, and it was neat that it was ice cream by Olson’s where we had ice cream in Chippewa Falls.

We went to the opening night of small local bands hosted by beer and liquor sponsors (Leinenkugel & Miller). Jack Daniels is a sponsor, but did not have a band last night. We kept walking the camp sites just watching all the fun parties going on with large groups of campers who obviously travel to this concert together or in many cases just join parties of others. Young people walking around with beer bongs around their necks, as the night grew later there was more sights of staggering folks. There were campers with bars set-up, a wide, large structure that appeared to be set-up just for dancing and there were tons of young girls dancing on it, a few removing their tops and we decided we looked more like chaperones and left after just a few minutes. It really is something you would never imagine without experiencing.
