off today for another great adventure this time checking out the house and grounds of Monticllo, the home of our third president Thomas Jefferson had a guided tour of the main part of the house then off to see the lower level and gardens on my own. Walk to the cemetery and the grave of Thomas Jefferson and his family. Then a stop at the old Michie Travern for a walk around the grounds, built in 1784 and moved to it present location in 1917. Then it was off for a drive in the Virginia country side to Appomattox where the surrender of General Lee to General Grant ending the Civil War, to a Confederate cemetery, and also a stop at the Museum of the Confederacy, where General Lee's sword is at. then back on the road driving on the back roads of Virginia into West Virginia and for my stop for the night at Beaver,WV
