It's always fun to see the elaborate wildlife dioramas in Cabela's stores.

Prairie du Chien has the smallest Cabela's we've seen. Most seem 2...

More views of the Mississippi at Prairie du Chien.

(Ron Writing) We had a nice relaxing morning and “went to our church” in Wickenburg by watching an online video of a prior week’s sermon. We are blessed to have two church families; one in California where we used to live and one in Arizona where we spend our winters. Our fellowship group in California sends us CD audio recordings of Pastor Glenn’s excellent lessons so we get to hear them also.

Before leaving Prairie du Chien we stopped by the Cabela’s store to purchase a couple items and then headed east on WI-60. Highway 60 is another scenic route and this one follows the Wisconsin River. There was very little traffic so we drove slow and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. In many places we were right alongside the river. There is some farming in the river valley but much of the land is too hilly for farming and is covered with trees. We didn’t take many photos because their was generally no place to pull off the road at the most scenic spots.

We passed through several small towns, many of them unincorporated, on the way to Spring Green, WI. From Spring Green we headed south a short distance to Dodgeville, WI where we are spending the night.

We had beautiful weather again.
