Tulsa Rose Garden

Debra and I got up early and drove to the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore - about 35 minutes away. Upon arrival we found that we would be sharing the museum with 6 busloads of fifth graders. Yikes! Actually, it turned out to be a benefit. We were invited to join the group in the auditorium for a talk by a museum interpreter. He was terrific! He did rope tricks the entire time he was spouting facts and funny info about Will. The kids loved him and so did we. Next we saw a film narrated by Will Rogers Jr - 11 minutes of his dad doing rope tricks. Fascinating.

Had a disappointing lunch at The Pink House. Just when it was time to leave, the heavens opened up and it poured! We got soaked running to the car. Debra put on the heater and the defroster and that helped dry us out during the trip to downtown Tulsa.

The rain stopped just long enough for us to see "The Golden Driller" and the Tulsa Rose Garden . Debra arranged for a mahjong game at her house tonight so we went home to prepare. She made an absolutely delicious Chicken Tortilla soup for dinner that really hit the spot on this chilly, rainy day.

I've had a lovely time spending two days here. There is more to see but I'll have to do some of that on my own tomorrow ( weather permitting) since Debra is otherwise engaged. Then I'm off to Rogers, Arkansas.
