Heroes of the mountains.

At the parade

Anyone interested in doing some jigsaw puzzles with me???

On Thursday we headed up the Blue Mountains to Winmalee to visit Graham and Kathy who having survived the wedding of their daughter, now had us arriving for a few days and also 2 small grandchildren for the weekend. Still, Kathy and I managed to fit in a trip down to Penrith to the Papercraft show on the Friday and although the dismal weather was continuing it cleared long enough for the heritage festival and parade at Springwood on Saturday morning.

On Thursday we had a good walk around the streets near their home to see the houses (or rather the empty blocks where houses had stood) which had been wiped out in the bush fires. They came so near to them. Graham also drove us around the wider area to see so many empty blocks where people cannot afford to rebuild because their insurance will not cover the cost of building to the new fire regulation code.

On Sunday we were able to worship with them at Winmalee Anglican Church.
