Day 42 Sunday 6th April Gerringong to The Entrance

Today we've skipped church and are going to get to the other side (north) of Sydney today. Let's see what the day brings. We carefully planned our route to skirt around Sydney with a minimum of hassle. The planning paid off. We used the M1 up to the road west to Picton and loined the Hume Freeway M31 which would take us up to meet the A28 through to Hornsby where we started the trip north to Berowa Rest Area just under 3hrs from our departure from the Kiama area. Phew!!! Our plan was to head out to the coast to start poking our way around the beaches between Sydney and Newcastle. BUT - - - -

After missing a turn, and spending so much time watching the wipers flick back and forth, we kept going on the motorway that bypasses the beaches north of Newcastle, then went east to the area of The Entrance. On the way we drove through Avoca Beach (a town with very unfriendly streets for caravans) and where the misty rain stopped us from seeing the surfers in the water. Ah - a bit more "Gibson weather"
