After an early breakfast on our third day we boarded our bus bound for Paeismina. Enroute we stopped to visit a “Chiquita Banana” processing plant. After 2 hours on the bus an another half hour on a bumpy gravel road it was a welcome stop. The economy in this section of Costa Rica is very poor but everyone we met were very friendly people. Back on the bus and after another half hour on the same road we found ourselves in the middle of the jungle along a river where we took a two hour boat ride and saw many varieties of fauna and some wildlife. We had lunch at a remote, boat accessible only, village café. After lunch we got back on the boat and then back on the bus for our 3 hour non stop return trip. It was a long day and everyone was glad to get back to Sarapiqui.
