Hey Kathleen, thanks for the note.
Yes, we are working in banana country at present and it is quite tough. I'm working in the sheds and I've had the pleasure of seeing quite a few rats, snakes and frogs about the place. Don't worry the bananas are cleaned thoroughly.
Going to leave here at the end of next week and our plan is to travel down the east coast, stopping off at certain places on the way. Sailing, safari and skydive are all in the pipeline. Then we will arrive back in Sydney and hopefully stay in Victoria's place for a few days before heading off to the place where we got work in November. We only realise now, after hearing so many horror stories from other backpackers, how good it is back there.
So, then, after working there for a while we should be able to get to see Adelaide, Uluru (Ayers Rock), Perth and a few other spots along the way. Then home again in September with a stop off in Thailand for ten days. Phew. Sounds like a lot but we've become accustomed to travelling for 9-15 hours to get somewhere. Galway-Dublin will never be the same again.
Got to go, the swimming pool is calling me.
Bye for now
Alan and Paula
