Petronas Towers - from our window

Menora Tower - from our window

Arrived at the airport in the afternoon.....it's huge! Not well signposted so had to ask. We had to get a train to baggage claim and immigration but no problems or queues.

Arrived at the taxi counter and waited in the queue for about 10 mins. Asked for a taxi to our hotel, Hotel Royal Kuala Lumpur. It'd changed its name so they weren't sure but after discussion, we were charged 102.10MR (ringgits) which is around £20. Arrived at the hotel an hour later and checked in. We have a 12th floor room. It's a bit dated but clean and spacious and has views of Menora Tower and the Petronas Towers Moungst other things. The hotel is just next to the monorail and LOT 10 shopping mall.

We went for a wander around the mall and to look for something for dinner expecting something like we had in Bangkok. Thought we found it, ordered food which was inedible. This cost approx £5 for the 2 of us although a couple of beers was more than the food. We went out......eventually, (couldn't find the exit) and found a restaurant opposite our hotel, sat down and ordered food. Guy had sweet and sour chicken and I had Hawaiian chicken both with rice. Guys was quite nice, mine was really spicy but we ate our meal washed down with beer. I think the bill was 64MR but it included 10% service and 6% tax.

Back to the hotel really early for an early night.
