It was a lovely warm sunny day and Heather was starting to feel a lot better so we headed out to the local village of Foz do Arelho. Foz do Arelho sits just back from the coast where the Lagoa de Obidos lagoon meets with the ocean. The beaches are just beautiful and on such a glorious day we all enjoyed a stroll along the beach. However the sea was extremely turbulent with waves swirling and crashing onto the beach

From Foz do Arelho we drove along the cliff top road to Sao Martinho do Porto. We found a beautiful spot for lunch overlooking the coast. It reminded us a bit of the California coastline .

Just outside Sao Martinho do Porto we walked up to an overlook which gave us a magnificent view of the almost landlocked bay of the town, a natural harbour. We then enjoyed a lovely walk along the boardwalk and dune paths of the bay and found a lovely spot to sit in the sunshine.

Although we had not gone very far we had enjoyed the day tremendously .
