Heading West for the Summer/Fall of 2013 travel blog

Welcome to Grimes Point

We decided to take the Petroglyph Trail. Debbie is ready to go.

A little of the history of the rock drawings

History of why and how the boulders appear on the rocks.

Grimes Point was first visited by Native Americans perhaps 8,000 years ago or more. You can view examples of petroglyphs (prehistoric rock art) along a short, self-guided interpretive trail.

A Grimes Point Petroglyph Trail brochure is available to describe each station stop. It is located seven miles east of Fallon, Nevada, on the north side of US 50.
