|Lorne is a nice little town and quite busy. We always enjoy visiting. The scenery is just magnificent on the Great Ocean Road. I took many photos of cliffs, sea, ocean, sand, roads high up on the cliffs hugging the side of the mountains. Loving it all. We like Apollo Bay which is less commercial than Lorne and has a nice beachy feel to it. Once you leave Apollo Bay then you're heading inland. Driving inland you drive through the forests and through beautiful farmland. We came to the Cape Otway turnoff and decided to see the lighthouse which has been there since the 1800's. On the way we came across lots of koalas in the trees some with babies on their backs and we took lots of photos of them. We went on to the lighthouse and climbed to the top of the 75 steps and out on to the balcony. On the ocean side there was such an amazing gust of wind that it pushed me back around the corner although David made it around. The rain started to come in and we drove carefully back looking at the koalas as we went and headed towards the Twelve Apostles stopping just a few kilometers past Lavers Hill for the night.
