|We are at Arrowhead Marina and RV Park with our coach looking at the water on the Erie Canal. Our friends, Carol and Jack, who we met on our Oregon Trail RV trip in 2011 live near here. They picked us up and took us to their beautiful home and served us a dinner that was one of the best we have had on the trip. We enjoyed visiting and made our plans for the following day. They picked us up at the "appointed time" of 9:00 AM. We went to Prospect Mountain State Park for a look at the vistas in the distance. We went to the Sagamore Hotel for lunch. It was built in 1893 and we ate lunch a few feet from beautiful Lake George. The lobster salad there was all lobster and it was perfect. We rode to the Lake George Campground which is really a resort destination and would be a great place to camp with kids. We rode around Skidmore College and then to the Saratoga Race Track. It is the oldest race track in the US (1847)and had kept many of its traditions. The season opens next week. This area in the Adirondacks is very scenic.
