The Capper Nomads Europe Adventure travel blog

Today we headed further south. It was an eventful start to our journey. When we did the usual test to ensure the tow braking system was working we observed no movement on the brake pedal in the car but we had the regular noise and the light on the motorhome dash was staying on. We rang Tow-2-Tow cars in the UK and Graham talked us through a number of checks. The system didn’t appear to be working properly. Graham suggested for now to take out the two fuses for the brake system. We were still able to tow as the all the lights would work except the system would not activate the brakes on the car until the system could be checked–out.

We eventually got away at mid-day.

Later we arrived at the turning to the stellplatz we were going to use and found there was a sign restricting anything over 7.5 tons with something we didn’t understand in German underneath. We stopped and rang the stellplatz and they told us we were fine the words underneath said “except for access”. We will know in future ! We then went down the road and turned into an industrial estate and returned to the road to the stellplatz. Everything was fine !
