|Today I rushed round, getting washing done, exchanging books, and posting stuff home and than Ruth came with me to the airport to say goodbye. Gutted I have to leave but my visa runs out tomorrow! Got the flight and got chatting to some girls from Manchester at the check in desk. I saw then again at arrivals and we decided to catch a cab into town between us as it was cheaper than the bus. WE caught the cab to the 'golden triangle' the central business district. It's not as cheep as 'Chinatown' but we found a place that was 45 Ringits between us (about 2 pound each). We got there at 8pm and then went on a bit of a mission trying to get bus or train tickets. Claire, 23, nurse, needed to leave the next day for Thailand to meet a friend in Phuket. Viki, 23, Graphics/architecture student, wanted to go north to Kota Bharu to catch a ferry to the Perhentian Islands. We went to two train stations and one bus station didn't get any tickets but at least found out what time they left the next day. Then we went for a quick beer before bed.
