J Bosch art

Sculpture of character from a Bosch painting

Raining today so time for another museum. Den Bosch is named after Jheronimus Bosch, an artist who lived in the town from 1450 to 1516. His paintings depicted the struggle between good and evil and heaven and hell. His portrayal of hell and evil includes very gory scenes, strange looking animals, and other scary creatures that look like they came out of a modern day science fiction movie. His imagination was ahead of his time! We're both afraid we might get nightmares tonight.
