After a brief overnight stay in Holbrook, Arizona, we arrived at the KOA in Williams in mid afternoon on Tuesday. Travel days are usually draining especially when fighting an infection so we opted for some down time. After checking out the town, we decided to have dinner delivered by the KOA Korral. We were pleasantly surprised.
On Wednesday we drove to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. We have been to the canyon once before when our son was a year old. We spent most of our time worrying about the safety of very active toddler and didn't particularly enjoy our stay. This time we hiked along the rim or took the shuttle from place to place. We were surprised by the number of people touring in May. We had a nice lunch at the El Tovar hotel. the food was good and the service excellent. Spending hours outside with the wind at 30-40mph can be draining. I can't say this was the most enjoyable day, but I am glad to finally feel I've really seen the Grand Canyon.
