|Wednesday May 1 This was a do nothing day, drove about 200 miles and stayed at the Caboose campground in Remington, Indiana. Thursday we left the campground about 9 AM and took the I-294 bypass around Chicago ($13.85 in tolls). It was 61⁰ when we left and arrived in Wisconsin at 45⁰ with cold rain. They say the wind chill will be in the 20’s tonight.
We had a good lunch at Erv’s Mug with friends Bob & Judy from Florida. They are staying at the Yogi Bear Park about 5 miles from the Racine County Park that we are at.
Friday and Saturday we visited with family. Our son Peter has finished building his new house except for a little trim and landscaping. When we were here last July I helped side the garage but the house was just partly studded. Craig our older son has been bottling beer and has at least 100 bottles of wine bottled.
Sunday was our grandson Ryans first communion. After church we went to our sons house for the party celebrating Ryans first communion and his birthday and our daughter in laws birthday.
The weather was beautiful until Thursday when it rained and turned cold again. On Friday after stopping at Camping World in Madison we drove up to Montello and met 6 friends for lunch at Rivers Bend Campground. We stopped at 6 or 7 campgrounds getting seasonal rate info for a possible stay in 2015. We ended up in Watertown for a fish fry at another Rivers Bend Campground.
We signed up for a truck camper caravan next October in Washington to see the fall colors. There should be about 25 truck campers in the caravan.
On Monday May 13 we picked up a rental car and took the truck in to get the fender replaced. Monday night we went to our grand daughter Alissa's school to see her in a play. Then on Tuesday Our grand son Ryan had his first Little league ball game.
On Wednesday we went up to Crivitz to see Sharon’s parents grave and to visit with uncle Bob and Cousin Tim.
Saturday morning Sharon tripped and fell into our son back door and hurt her ribs. After an x-ray and CT scan they found no major injury so she probably sprained her ribs. When I sprained my ribs bowling in Brazil it took about 6 months before I had regular movement. Hopefully hers will heal sooner. Saturday night Sharon stayed home and I went to a going away party for family/friend Jess. She is in the Army and is going to Djibouti, Africa for 6 months.
