Today we biked 55 miles for a total of 110 miles.

After a good breakfast at our hotel we left for another day on the road. It was not raining but still chilly and overcast. I dressed warmer today.

We headed south on the Maas river occasionally crisscrossing, but pretty much went straight south. Saw a lot of Horses, a variety of cows, and sheep along it's banks. Barges occasionally prowled the waters, mostly going upstream. Saw several small towns with predominately brick homes with beautiful gardens.

This weekend is a national holiday - Pinkerster - not sure exactly why this is a holiday. It turned out to be very hard to find a room on short notice. We went to several hotels along the way, only to find no vacancy. The staff at these hotels were extremely helpful trying to find a home for the night. Finally we did find a hotel in Stein-Urmond. A bit more than we usually like to pay. 50% more, because it is a holiday. Bummer. Oh we'll, plan ahead next time.

Had dinner of salmon and asparagus with hollandaise sauce - truly wonderful. Pam a vegetable lasagna.

Tomorrow we head for Maastricht and will stay here for 4.5 days.
