Ferry Sunset - End Of Trip

Our last day. The ships tannoy sounded at 5.30am with a wake-up call and a further announcement at 6.20am called us and the other drivers down to our vehicles ready to disembark. We were second in our line of vehicles on the car deck and were off the boat and through Customs and Immigration checks by 6.45am.

All that was left now was the two hour drive up the A12 to Lowestoft and home. Topped up Elsie before we parked up and unloaded Doris, put Ethel to bed and prepared for the forthcoming onslaught of grandchildren.

Altogether a very successful and enjoyable trip. We covered 2,190 miles in Elsie plus another 200 miles or so on Doris. Our average fuel consumption in Elsie was slightly over 29mpg. My thanks go to the five women who accompanied me on our adventure.

Elsie our magnificent motorhome

Doris our fantastic scooter

Ethel our, sometimes, frustrating but ever available SatNav

Nellie the Nexus, our 7inch tablet computer who led us to the hidden geocaches.

And of course Viv, who looked after our every need on the domestic front.

What a team!!

Scotland next.
