The weather had been really wet so we had a few days in the coach. So on the Saturday we visited the Keith Harding’s World of Mechanical Music. Our guided tour of this small museum was fascinating with our guide telling the history of mechanical music by demonstrating antique music boxes, barrel organs and automata.
From there we visited the old market town of Chipping Campden. The narrow main street had many old buildings giving an impression of what a wool town may have looked like in the Middle Ages if you can close your eyes to the cars. The dominate feature of the town is the Market Hall where farmers once gathered to sell their produce.
The weather had slowly improved and we finished the day by visiting Broadway with its long wide main street framed by stone cottages. The village was once a stop for stagecoaches between London and Worcester.
