We set off the next morning with Adrian, heading to the east coast of the Malaysian Peninsular, the Perhentian Islands, to do a spot of diving!

It was such a LOOOOOOOOOOONG journey but we got there eventually and then had to trek up and down the beach with our bags on looking for some accommodation. Everywhere was pretty full, but we ended up staying at Rock Garden (known as Rock Bottom), as it was cheap and nice enough!

After a shower we met up with some people we'd met on the boat over (a Canadian guy, Andrew, and 2 French Canadian's, Annie and Veronique) and all went for dinner. I had BBQ'd shark (quite tasty!) and then everyone got on the shakes - the best one was the Snickers Shake, very tasty! After a game of UNO, we had an early night.

Next morning we changed rooms cos we wanted one with a fan and plug sockets so we could charge things. The generator was on for longer too, at the new hotel!!

I booked my Open Water PADI diving to start the next day and then during the course of the day Jen starting wondering whether she should try diving (even though she is the person I know who has the BIGGEST phobia of the sea and sharks!) as she has always been fascintaed by the sea. So we decided to start with a bit of snorkelling and then go from there. Jen managed the snorkelling, although was a bit scared, but she swam out the furthest she has ever done in her life, which was a massive achievement!

So, next step was to talk to the dive school to get their opinion. So, Jen was talked into trying the first day of the course and she would be able to back out free of charge if she really didn't like it.

For dinner we had BBQ'd Kingfish, which was yummy, then went to a bar for their "Open Mic" night, which ended up not happening, which was annoying as we waited around for it!
