Out in Africa travel blog

This afternoon we went to Perouges. A medieval town that is not full of tourist attractions. The cobblestone streets are still there and any modern facilities are hidden, the man hole covers are cobble stone areas with little metal handles, lights are hidden in the rocks of the street. People still live in the old stone houses. All of the buildings were built as part of the fortress wall, including the church. This is the town where The Three Musketeers was filmed in the 1960s. We were also treated to a sugar pie, a specialty from here. It was a pizza crust baked with a mixture of sugar, lemon and butter. It was quite good, and I am not a lemon dessert person!

Tomorrow we actually get to sail away!
