|We finally arrived in Paris. Of all the flights in Africa the flight to Amsterdam was late leaving, and the short stop in Dar Es Salaam was delayed do to technical difficulties with the video system. We arrived with less than an hour to get to our gate. We ran through the airport, got through the priority immigration line, had a very nice gentlemen in security find us a short line and made it to the gate only to be told we were being put on the next flight! The reason was so our luggage could make it. They wouldn't help us in trying to contact the driver that was to pick us up! Verne did find a phone that took credit cards and was able to contact the driver and make arrangements.
The pilot welcomed us to Paris with the weather report...sunny and temp of 1C which I know is in the 30s. It is also feels about 10 times colder as we had 80s, 90s and even 100 degree temps in Africa.
We arrived at our third floor apartment, no elevator and in France the entry floor is ground so it is actually the 4th floor. We started up with our first bags, only I counted wrong and we went up one floor to many!
We found a supermarket and stocked the fridge and cupboard.
We bundled up and went off to the Eiffel Tower. Took about an hour to walk on the left bank. While waiting for our reservation, I had a delicious freshly made crepe with Nutella, strawberries and bananas. We made it to the top. I didn't care for the elevator ride to the top, but was okay at the top as it was caged in! We took another hour to walk back on the right bank, under the full moon.
Did some laundry and then to bed!
