end of the day

Today we are off by train from Lucerne to Interlake part way there we had to change to a bus due to work on the tracks, so this give us a little different view of the roads and mountains, as the trains go through lots tunnels so not a great a view. The leaves are changing colors so it is very nice, lots of reds, yellows and orange, but since we are in the valley by the lakes we have lots of fog with the water being warmer then the mountain air. We get checked in to our B & B will be here for the next 3 nights, a bit of lunch and off for the Trummelbach water falls by train for part of the way then walking the rest of the way about 5Km. The falls are inside the mountain with at least 10 different falls, a bit damp but real nice to see them a walk back to the train station with a stop at a farm house to buy some cheese wow this was great. The train back to Interlaken and another one on to Interlaken west and our B & B a time to rest before having dinner at the B & B very good home cooked meal. On the 25th we are off on a early morning train to the top of Europe by cog train, this day starts by getting on the first train at 06:14am for a big time of 3 minutes to Interlaken then on to three more trains to the top the last one being in a tunnel the whole way to the top. The top where the train stops is at 11,333 feet, with the highest peak Jungfrau at 13642 ft. this area is covered by snow all year long, a couple things were shut down for the season. But was nice on top as again we were able to be above the fog and in the sunshine, on the way down was a stop for lunch in Wengen just above the fog line then as I headed down the mountain the fog lifted so was able to do a walk about Lauterbrunnen and see all the great colorful leaves. On the 26th of Oct is a free day so just did some walking round Interlaken, a relaxing day, out for a great lunch of spare ribs and baked potato and some work on the computer. A walk to small resturant for dinner and back to the B & B for bed.
