It rained all morning so we decided to visit Fleet Air Arm Museum just down the road from the campground.
The museum had an interesting collection of mainly military with some civilian aircraft. It also told the story and the role of the Fleet Air Arm of the Navy.
The central focus of the museum is a whole hall which has been converted into a mock-up of the British fleet carrier HMS Ark Royal as it would have appeared in the 1970s. You entered the hall via a simulated helicopter ride which brought us onto the flight deck of the aircraft carrier. We were then guided through the key operation parts of the carrier.
The final hall had the second Concorde prototype to fly which took place in May 1969.
An interesting museum for a very wet day!
