Jean and Alison (our sister-in-law and niece) arrived yesterday. Today, we had lunch on the docks at Morro Bay, enjoying a nice sunny afternoon. Morro Rock, which sits on the beach at Moro Bay, is huge! Ali thinks it's bigger than Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach. We are staying in Cambria, which is in the midst of its Annual Scarecrow Festival. This event is fun to see. Approximately 200 scarecrows are set up all over town (i.e., in peoples' yards, on trails and walks, in front of businesses, etc.). All are colorful and fun....some are really creative. We especially liked the Cambrian Cyclists, with stationary but moving wheels, and Snoopy in tow. We also liked Dorothy and her friends, as well as the snapping elephant seal in front of the Piedras Blancas original lens. It's a competition and winners will be announced towards the end of the month.
