Sunday September 16
After our breakfast, we spent some time checking e-mails and generally catching up. Julie offered to do a small load of laundry for us which was very convenient. When the washing was done, we took the load to the Laundrette in Newcastle Emlyn to dry the clothes.
Following this somewhat industrious morning, we drove to the coast to Aberporth, where we were very lucky to see bottle-nosed dolphins swimming out in the bay. They were a bit far out from sore for a photograph to do any justice, but they were fun to spot and it was quite unexpected. We sat and watched for a while before heading back into town just as it began to rain.
Later in the afternoon we went to visit Dave and Sally, owners of ’Glanafon Bach’ self-catering cottage in Llandygwydd (where we have stayed several times in the past). Dave and Sally have had a busy season with the holiday cottage and we were glad to hear that they are doing well. The timing of our visit was great as the last day of the Tour of Britain bicycle race was on the television when we arrived. We did not know that Sally and Dave were cycling fans, so we all watched Mark Cavendish win the last stage which finished in Guilford.
We headed back to the B&B for a while before going out to Colin and Jeanette’s house for a lovely dinner. It is always good to see our friends in Llechryd and it is very hard to believe that we had not seen them in over a year. It was past 11:00 by the time we arrived back at the B&B. A long day!
