On the Road with Tom and Gloria travel blog

We had such nice plans for today - a late breakfast out then the afternoon at the Zucchini Festival in West Stockbridge. It had drizzled in Great Barrington in the late morning and then the sun peaked out for a short while in the early afternoon which is why we decided to drive to the Festival. We no sooner found a parking spot then the thunder clapped, there was a deluge of rain, and a tornado warning was issued. By the time we turned around and came home the sun was out again. Crazy weather!

Maria and I went to church this evening - the Mass was in honor of my mother. The church was so hot that my sweat and my tears intermingled. Hard to believe Mom is gone just over a year now. I can still picture her smiling face and can still hear her sweet words of encouragement. Oh how I miss my Tom and my Mom.

Tonight, after a grilled dinner, the card marathon continued.
