John and Janet 2012 Oregon travel blog

It rained a lot last night. This area needs rain. We cannot complain. We have had very good weather for the entire trip.

The weather forecast for today is for more rain and wind. Most likely, the glass bottom boat trip will be cancelled. We like Alpena. There are many lakes beside Lake Huron but it is not a fishing day. We decide to travel further south.

We continue on the Lake Huron Circle Route. This section of Lake Huron is very developed. Lake access is limited. For much of the drive, the road is fine but we cannot see the lake.

It is the weekend. Even with the poor weather, we see many “No Vacancy” signs. When we reach the “thumb”, we head to the Interstate.

We travel for one hour fifteen minutes on the Interstate. It is not too bad. There is nothing to report. We see cars and trucks.

Tomorrow, we are going to try to visit the Henry Ford Museum. We hope that we can get around the Detroit area without too much trouble on Sunday.
