August 2, 2012 Afternoon

This afternoon we head back to Spring Green to visit the House on The Rock. This place was overwhelming. There are a multitude of different collections housed on this property in addition to the original house. The house itself actually mimics Frank Lloyd Wright's designs. It is built around this large rock, incorporate the rock in its rooms. The collections on the property include numerous Merry go rounds, doll house collections, musical instruments, organs, a replica of an early 1900’s main street, a transportation section, etc. Each collection has so many items that it really overwhelming. It takes 3-4 hours to work through all the rooms and sections and there are no quick or easy exits. But it was interesting.

This evening we attended the American Player’s Theater’s play “Skylight”. This was in their Touchtone theater. We were seated in the second row at the end and it was just like being on the stage which was at ground level right in front of us. Magnificent acting. What a great evening. If you ever are near Spring Green, we highly recommend attending one of American Players Theatre’s productions.

This concludes our Wisconsin Adventure. Tomorrow morning we head for Michigan and home.
