|Monday, July 30, 2012. We arrived late this afternoon in Marinette, Wisconsin after a great ride across the upper Peninsula of Michigan. As we rode along the north shores of Lake Michigan on this cloudy windy day, we saw that nothing deters vacationers from swimming in the lake. Burrrr. We felt compelled to enjoy a Pastie for lunch, a ‘Upper’ traditional lunch, one that in the early years, the miners took with them everyday. It was delicious, a combination of beef, pork, potato, carrot, onion and a flaky crust. Ummh good.
