So today we made our way back inland from the North Sea through Amersfoort, Amsterdam to a little town called Ede. This town contains the college that Welly, Anke and Henrieke studied at. Here we met one new family member, Henrieke's husband Arjan and a potential second, Arjen's girlfriend, Jamie.

We were welcomed at the door with proper coffee and Kersenvlaai.

Soon the rest of the family came in, first Henrieke and Arjan, then with Arjan we fetched Arjen and Jamie, only to realize that Eline had beaten us home.

The first night we all ate dinner outside sitting on the canopy that Graham and Steven had set up a few years ago which was quite well set up should I add.

The following day Ally went for a run that turned into a mini-marathon and activated the Jongeneel "911 rescue team". Ally had accidentally miscalculated how small dutch towns could be and so we had to go fetch her. Luckily there was a piece of Kersenvlaai left for her to indulge after the endeavour.

We had a good view of Ede, saw the church that Arjan is involved with in structuring, including a proper coffee area, and saw Eline's horse stables. All in all a real family day which was fitting for a Sunday. Our dessert was something to behold, so much so that we ended up not able to pause long enough to take a photo of it: a shortbread with cream overloaded with fresh strawberries. mmmmm.

We ended the day watching Spain thrash Italy and with a busy day set for tomorrow.
