The wait to fly out from Sydney on the 29th seemed, for so long, to be... well so long. Now everything seems to be happening in a rush. In just six days time it will really be, "So long!"
The next few days are going to be hectic. We have our tickets and have started packing. We have one ultra-light Antler suitcase each. We are trying not to over fill them so that there is room enough for a few purchaces while we are away. (Lidwien says, "More than a few.") She and I are both working up until the day before the flight from Sydney to Amsterdam. Crazy? Our friends think so.
We've both done a handover to the people who will be doing our jobs. For me there is still a lot of end-of-semester stuff to finish up at work (I am the Head Teacher of an Industrial Electronics Section at TAFE). For Lidwien there are similar issues, with system changes and end-of-term reports and planning (She coordinates a swim school).
I just bought myself a backpack to use as carry-on luggage and a secure wallet to wear under my clothes.
