Another sunny day was accompanied by breakfast for the last day on the tour. Back on the bikes for a run down the coast through Malibu. As it was Saturday every body was out on the beach surfing, rollerblading and cruising with their bikes and cars. Malibu is one of those areas that truly displays the Californian lifestyle with the cars, bikes houses and toys all out and about under the blue sky with a blue ocean backdrop. We stopped at Neptune's Net a biker hangout on the coastal highway after which we rode up the hill to a great biker bar called the Rock Store. It was located on Mulholland Hwy in a canyon that had a heap of twisting 15mph curves back and forth down the canyon. It was very popular with the sport bike rides knee dragging on all the corners up and down the hill.It would rate as the best road we have ever ridden on Lunch was in El Segundo at a rock and roll lunch bar. Music playing in the background, eating burgers and in great company was one of the highlights of the trip. Next stop was the traditional walk on the beach to finish the tour before dropping the bike into Eagle Rider. The Street Glide is a great bike, we might even consider buying one. We both agreed the tour does actually change your concept on motorcycle touring with a strong affinity towards the casual easy going nature of those accompanying you. After 1300 miles in the saddle,it is certainly an experience that has this mystical draw to spend more time on the road in the future. We got a lift back to the hotel and collected our rental car. Hertz were doing a promotion on muscle cars so for $380 extra we picked up a Sedona Orange Dodge Challenger What a awesome car with a 5.7 litre hemi and 20 inch rims. Not wanting to call it quits on the tour we all returned to Manhattan Beach and had meal at Mama D's Italian restaurant including Wil the tour guide. Wil Sakowski who owns Ride Free Motorcycle tours is a great host and now a great friend Everybody wants to return to the USA on another tour and we all will stay in touch. Hopefully the opportunity to catch up again is not too long in the future.
