We left Monterey Peninsula on Friday and headed for Sequioa National Park on the East border of California. It was about a 4 hour drive, and we arrived early afternoon. We did some laundry the day we got there and then relaxed. They had a nice outdoor sitting area where we sat while the laundry was going.
On Sunday the plan was to drive into Sequioa Park to see the giant trees. About 1/2 way there, the roads started getting very narrow and windy, so I decided I would prefer to stay at the hotel and wait for the others to go to the park.
They were got about 4 or 5 hours and seemed to enjoy what they saw, however, they did say the roads just got worse further on, so it was a good thing I didn't go.
Tomorrow we leave California for Arizona where we will be spending two nights in Lake Havasu City and they three nights in the Grand Canyon/Sedona area.
