Rowleys Bay, Wisconsin

|Nice easy drive here, about 230 miles today pulled in just after 1:00 PM at Wagon Trails Campground in Ellison Bay WI.
Beautiful country side here with Green Bay on one side and Lake Michigan on the other – all the time we spent in Chicago area we heard about this area but never managed to find time to visit. Lots of little touristy towns on Lake Michigan and Green Bay with restaurants and small hotels.
The first day we got here we went to Sister Bay, a small town we drove through on the way up and could see there was a art show going on while walking through the exhibits we met 2 of out neighbors from Texas who had exhibits and were showing their stuff, they live the summer in Sturgeon Bay about 30 minutes south, was a surprise to see them here.
We met them at Gordon Lodge for dinner the next day. A fabulous place that we would never have found on our own. Good meal and great company.
On Thursday Pat gave us a tour of Sturgeon Bay. She and her family have been there for a long time so she knows all the history. We considered ourself lucky to have her as our guide.
This is as far north as we are going this year from here on in we are heading south towards our winter haven in South Texas. Here are some intresting travel stats:
- MPH Average 53.6
- Hours Traveled 63
- Miles Traveled 3,397
- Gallons of Fuel used 407
- MPG average 8.3
Another 2,388 miles should get us back into South Texas for 2nd week of October
